Acupuncture is part of Traditional Chinese medicine and is believed to be 5000 years old. It originated in a time when healers understood diseases through the way of nature; heat, cold, wind, dry and damp, as these were seen reflected in the seasons as well as in the body. The body can be in harmony, or disturbed, and acupuncture works with the body’s energy (Qi) to encourage harmony.
Can Acupuncture help me?
Due to the unique 'harmony' perspective and approach that Traditional Chinese medicine incorporates, many hard-to-diagnose problems can be treated.
Acupuncture works to regain balance in the body through a variety of points, which are accessed using very thin needles. Normally there is little discomfort during the needle insertion or removal and should not discourage you.
The U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the WHO recognize that acupuncture can be helpful as an acceptable alternative treatment or to increase the quality of life for a variety of conditons; digestion, reproductive, neurologic, pain, stress, Lyme, Parkinson's, hypertension, weak immune system and sleep issues, just to name a few. |
